Paddington House of Pancakes or in short, PHOP was born out of the founders’ obsession with ‘pancakes’. They have traveled half the globe to savor traditional pancakes of each country they visited. Call it lady luck, they met a foreigner in Paddington who has a strong passion for making great pancakes. Armed with his special cooking techniques they soon discovered some secret recipes that can transform ordinary home-made pancakes to “Perfect Paddington Pancakes”.

To share the joy of “Paddington Pancakes” with everyone, there is no better way than to open a specialty restaurant that solely concentrates only on serving pancakes ! This is how “Paddington House of Pancakes” came about. Today, Paddington House Of Pancakes serves more than 100 types of pancakes from all the world, including pannekoeks, galettes, American stacks, poffertjes, blitzes, blinis, crepes, baked puff pancakes... etc and etc ! It is a full-dining restaurant concept which serves both savoury and sweet pancakes. Anyone can come into Paddington House of Pancakes at any time of the day for a hearty meal or a sweet sinful dessert. It also emphasizes on a cozy, happy and friendly environment for families and friends, whether it is for a quick bite, a social gathering, an important business meeting or simply to chill-out in a long lazy afternoon.

The founders have also specifically chosen an Asian country for their very first Paddington House of Pancakes. It is simply because there are no specialty pancake restaurants in Asia. Although having pancakes as meals are very common in Europe, it is a relatively new concept in most parts of Asia (except the naans !). The founders would love to bring a new dining experience to all the Asian consumers, where pancakes are not only served for breakfasts or desserts or something that we have as novelty in certain occasions, but they can be a hearty, healthy and delicious meal by themselves.

After all the careful planning and conceptualization, and using Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as the pilot project, the maiden outlet has finally started in The Curve, Mutiara Damansara in December 2004. Currently, we have 4 outlets, including PHOP@1 Utama Shopping Centre, PHOP@The Gardens Mid Valley City and PHOP@Queensbay Mall, Penang. We can assure you that you will see more Paddington House of Pancakes in the near future in many more Asian countries.

Do we only serve pancakes at Paddington House of Pancakes?

YES ! We are a full dining restaurant offering a huge variety of pancake meals. In fact, we are one of the first specialty pancake restaurant in Asia, serving many different types of pancakes from all over the world. Our team of pancake experts is responsible for creating an infinite variety of mouth watering pancakes using recipes collected from all over the world. Today, our pancakes are not only eaten as dessert and breakfast but are simply a hearty meal by itself, eaten for lunch, dinner and supper.

Besides the sweet dessert pancakes that most Asians are accustomed to, PHOP emphasizes on the savoury ones, which for centuries have been staple food in western countries. We boast of a huge variety of savoury fillings that could satisfy every customer’s tastebuds. These pancakes are certainly a hearty and healthy meal by itself.

We are very proud of our unique and wholesome menu offering, which insists on the utmost quality ingredients that go with our perfect “Paddington Pancakes” at all times. Look out for The GOLDEN Ring :

Every American pancake or blini served at PHOP has a golden ring circling its edges. It is this “Paddington Ring” that makes your American pancake or blini crispy around the edges, fluffy in the middle and melts in your mouth. Even PHOP’s pannekoeks and galettes are thin with crispy golden edges too.

Try our dollar pancakes, which are fried without oil, they are light and fluffy. Believe us, they can be so addictive !

Our baked puff pancake has a signature puffy and crusty golden edge that raised tall above the skillet, while it’s thin and soft in texture and has a rich buttery taste that is simply irresistible.

As for our crepe, it is soft and tissue thin, in fact almost translucent. Don’t believe ? you can hold it up against the light and see for yourself. But caution, it is extremely fragile !

We keep the passion of flipping the perfect pancake for you at all times. If your pancake comes without the ring, it’s not golden enough, or without the signature as described above, we’ll happily replace it for you !
